How you can help

We'll never get on top of climate change if we don't get active. Now that we have a carbon price mechanism, Australia needs to gear up for the next steps to accelerate action on climate change. There are many promises from this year that have to be implemented in 2012: the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, closing down coal power, national action on energy efficiency, vehicle fuel effiency standards... and we still have to tackle the huge amount of pollution that arises from our accelerating coal mining and export industry.

If you're worried about climate change ---

  • get involved locally with a CANA member group.
  • Start volunteering
  • hold a stall (do you want some materials? get in touch with CANA ...)
  • go to a protest
  • write a letter to your local MP.

If you are already involved in a not-for-profit group that works on climate change, and want to get the benefit of being part of Australia's only umbrella network that brings civil society from across the spectrum together to work collaboratively to tackle climate change, then join CANA.

CANA needs your help to keep doing our valuable work drawing civil society together in new collaborative and cooperative campaign work and to continue bein the international face of Australian civil society on climate change.

If you can support CANA, please click here to make a one-off or a regular donation.

Did you see reports from the World Energy Outlook 2011 warning that the world is on the wrong path, and by 2017 will have locked-in all the greenhouse pollution we can afford to create if we are to limit warming to 2 degrees unless we rapidly turn a corner?

Now more than ever, the Australian public needs to hear the voices of those concerned about climate change.
