NOT Green Power Accredited:
The Commonwealth
Government has set a mandatory renewable energy
target of an additional two percent of electricity to be sourced from
renewable energy by 2010. All electricity retailers are required to
meet this obligation by purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)
from renewable energy generators. Retailers are not allowed to count
the RECs as part of their Green Power sales.
Green
Future (EnergyAustralia) and Clean
Air Energy (EnergyAustralia):
Customers should be aware that these two renewable energy products are
NOT accredited because they are not additional to Renewable Energy
Certificates (RECS).
