Changes in rainfall & water systems

Northern Territory (NT)

Fewer studies have been carried out for climate change impacts on water systems in the Northern Territory. However, it is expected that there will be overall increases in stream flow. Observed rainfall trends in the Northern Territory support this projection, by highlighting an 8mm increase in rainfall per year from 1951 to 2001 (CSIRO 2002).
