Kate Smolski is an environmental advocate with over 18 years of experience in grassroots organizing, campaign strategy, media relations, policy and lobbying. As a grassroots organiser, campaigner and director Kate has worked for several leading US environmental non-profits including Green Corps, the Sierra Club, USCAN and Greenpeace.
Through innovation campaigns she has worked with a range of groups to effectively advocate for action on climate change, clean energy and lands and wildlife protection.
Kate moved to Sydney in 2012 and after working for two years as the Campaigns Director at the Nature Conservation Council of NSW she led the organisation as the Chief Executive Officer for five years. NCC campaigns for protect our forests, woodlands and oceans and for strong action on climate change. During this time, she also founded the Community Organising Fellowship, an initiative that gives community leaders the skills needed to be successful in grassroots organising.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from the University of Rhode Island.
